Come nel post della settimana scorsa, vi propongo ancora dei dettagli "preziosi". Ecco il particolare di un'opera che ha il potere di catapultare lo spettatore all'interno dell'opera stessa. Guardando i particolari delle perle, delle pietre preziose e del pizzo rappresentati mi sembra di vivere in quel lontano tempo del 1685 circa, anno in cui fu realizzato questo ritratto delle Regina Mary II, quando era ancora Principessa d'Orange.

Questa tela ovale è venuta alla luce nel 1925 con altri dipinti francesi provenienti dalla collezione di Ernest Cognacq. Il seno nudo della giovane donna indica che non si tratta di un  ritratto ma di un modello, e la lampada a olio suggerisce che si tratta di una allegoria, anche se è impossibile capire di che cosa. La Dea Minerva ( del Detroit Institute of Arts), che ha la stessa forma ovale ed è molto simile nelle dimensioni, è stata proposta come il suo pendant, i due dipinti potrebbero essere stati una coppia e potrebbero anche appartenere ad un insieme più ampio. This oval canvas came to light in 1925 with other French paintings from Ernest Cognacq’s collection. The young woman’s bare breast indicates that she is not a portrait sitter but a model, and the antique oil lamp suggests that she is in allegorical guise, though it is impossible to be more specific. The Goddess Minerva (Detroit Institute of Arts), which is the same shape and very close in size, has been proposed as a pendant; the two paintings may have been a pair and could also have belonged to a larger set. The series dedicate to details in art.
I started with "Afternoon Tea" by Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix (1825-1879) and then with a Venice's view of Canaletto. Continuous, in this post, with Jacques-Louis David and the details of "Consecration of the Emperor Napoleon and the Coronation of Empress Joséphine on December 2 1804 "(1806-07).
The work is amazing and great, but if observed in detail is astounding.

Continuo, in questo post, con Jacques-Louis David e i dettagli di "Consacrazione dell'Imperatore Napoleone e Incoronazione dell'Imperatrice Joséphine il 2 Dicembre 1804" (1806-07).
L'opera è straordinaria e grandiosa, ma se osservata nei suoi dettagli è stupefacente.
