It was an American Impressionist painter. He painted genre scenes, portraits, interiors, snowy landscapes, seascapes and still lifes sunny. At the beginning of his career his main activity was to engraver, illustrator and painter of watercolors. However, he completed his training in Paris between 1886 and 1889, where he was influenced dale works and techniques of the Impressionists.
