In the church of Saint Antonin Castello the Chinese artist transforms his imprisonment in a work of art.
Six huge blocks of iron. Closed and claustrophobic.
They dominate in
the spans of the church and represent
the hardship of imprisonment that the artist has suffered for 81 days. Inside there
are six dioramas perfect. Depicting everyday scenes: a shower, interrogation, dinner, travel, sleep. Inside Ai Weiwei, and
his two guards always present.
Ai Weiwei is told, as well, showing to the public for the first time in the life of the prison. To see it, though, you need to spy on the
joints and it
also does the artist's mother.,

Nella chiesa di Sant’Antonin a Castello l'artista cinese trasforma
la sua prigionia in un'opera d'arte.
Sei enormi parallelepipedi di ferro. Chiusi e claustrofobici. Essi
troneggiano nelle campate della chiesa e rappresentano il disagio della
prigionia che l’artista ha subito per 81 giorni. Dentro ci sono sei diorami
perfetti. Che riproducono scene quotidiane: la doccia, l’interrogatorio, la
cena, gli spostamenti, il sonno. Dentro Ai Weiwei, e le sue due guardie sempre
presenti.
Ai Weiwei si racconta, così, mostrando al pubblico per la prima
volta la vita del carcere. Per vederla, però, è necessario spiare dai pertugi e
lo fa anche la madre dell’artista., che era presente all'inaugurazione e ha
guardato le scene di sofferenza del figlio.
