Klimt, Gustav – “Cascina a Kammer presso l’Attersee” (1905-1908).
Il dipinto presentato coglie un momento di passaggio nella pittura paesaggistica di Gustav Klimt. La datazione non è certa ma lo colloco con tutta probabilità dopo le visite che l’artista fece a Ravenna (1903/1904) dove ebbe modo di ammirare i mosaici bizantini che tanto influenzarono il suo stile decorativo successivo.

Joel Rea

Joel Rea è nato nel 1983. Ha esposto il suo lavoro in Australia e negli Stati Uniti ed è stato acclamato per i suoi dipinti ad olio in molti premi prestigiosi d'arte in tutta l'Australia. Rea rappresenta la natura come un'energia pulsante maestosa e minacciosa. Rea si descrive come un pittore surrealista contemporaneo, ma è anche un artista romantico del 18° secolo. Esattamente come gli artisti romantici, Rea è interessato alla dualità degli opposti, dove la natura è una fonte di purezza senza tempo, ma è anche un sentimento oscuro e una forza distruttrice.
I suoi quadri mi ricordano alcune opere di Caspar David Friedrich e possiedono la stessa energia.

 

Joel Rea was born in 1983. He has exhibited his work in Australia and the United States and has been acclaimed for his oil paintings in many prestigious art awards through out Australia. Rea portrays nature as pulsating energy that is both majestic and threatening. Rea describes himself as a Contemporary Surrealist Painter, but he is also a Romantic artist in 18th century.

Si tratta di paesaggi che mi hanno colpito perché rappresentano grandi spazi, sterminate distese d'acqua e che esprimono tutta la potenza della natura.  Io li trovo meravigliosi e voi?

Sandy Zambon da sempre ha avuto la bizzarria di poter pensare che nella vita, per essere felici, oltre ai sentimenti e le emozioni che ci circondano, fosse importante pensare a ciò che veramente rende il quotidiano una passione.
Durante gli anni della scuola e anche successivamente, ha sempre privilegiato la figura - particolarmente quella femminile - interpretata con l’approfondimento di percorsi personali soprattutto attraverso il segno, elemento principale delle sue opere.
Per un po’ di anni la sua attività ha avuto un momento di pausa, dovuto principalmente allo scontrarsi contro una realtà che non era la sua, le motivazioni sono venute a mancare e altri avvenimenti hanno avuto il sopravvento. Nonostante, tutto il trasporto e l’impulso verso questo che sente essere il suo percorso e la sua sfida sono sempre stati presenti.
Grazie soprattutto alle persone che hanno creduto in lei, ha provato e voluto rimettersi in gioco….. in questa realtà dove i momenti sono fugaci, effimeri, le cose vere rimangono immutate nel tempo.

Durante la mia visita alla nuova mostra della Collezione Peggy Guggenheim - The Avant-gardes of Fin-de-Siècle Paris: Signac, Bonnard, Redon, and their Contemporaries - sono rimasta incantata davanti alle opere di Maximilien Luce. Non avevo mai visto le sue opera dal vivo e conoscevo poco della sua vita. Ho deciso allora di andare a leggermi la sua biografia e soprattutto di guardarmi alcune delle sue opere più belle e che condivido con voi in questo post.


During my visit to the new exhibition at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection - The Avant-gardes of Fin-de-Siècle Paris: Signac, Bonnard, Redon, and their Contemporaries - I was enchanted by the works of Maximilien Luce. I had never seen her live opera and knew little of his life. I then decided to go to read my biography and especially to look at some of his finest works, and I share with you in this post.

Una giornata magica ed una mostra emozionante: ecco come descriverei la mia visita alla nuova esposizione della Collezione Peggy Guggenheim a Venezia. Dal 28 settembre 2013 al 6 gennaio 2014 la Collezione Guggenheim presenta Le avanguardie nella Parigi fin de siècle: Signac, Bonnard, Redon e i loro contemporanei, a cura di Vivien Greene. Ho visitato la mostra e vi ho mostrato alcune immagini della mia visita su Instagram. Ora vi racconto quello che ho visto e spero che possiate al più presto andare anche voi alla Guggenheim. A magic day and an exciting exhibition; this is how I would describe my visit to the new exhhibition al the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. From septembre 28, 2013 through january 6, 2014 the Peggy Guggenheim Collection presents The Avant-gardes of Fin-de-Siècle Paris: Signac, Bonnard, Redon, and their Contemporaries curated by Viven Greene. I visited the exhibition and I showed you some pictures of my visit on Instagram. I'll tell you what I saw and I hope you can as soon as you even to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. It's worth it!

Max Mara Art Prize For Women

Whitechapel Gallery e Max Mara hanno annunciato i nomi delle finaliste del quinto Max Mara Art Prize For Women. Si tratta delle artiste Beatrice Gibson, Melanie Gilligan, Judith Goddard, Philomene Pirecki e Corin Sworn.
Le artiste sono state selezionate per il Premio da una giuria presieduta da Iwona Blazwick OBE, Direttrice della Whitechapel Gallery. La giuria è composta da Pilar Corrias, Direttrice della Pilar Corrias Gallery a Londra; Candida Gertler, Fondatrice e direttrice dell'Outset Contemporary Art Fund; l'artista Runa Islam e Lisa Le Feuvre, scrittrice, curatrice e responsabile di Sculpture Studies, presso l'Henry Moore Institute.

Whitechapel Gallery and Max Mara announced the five artists shortlisted for the fifth Max Mara Art Prize For Women. The shortlisted artists are Beatrice Gibson, Melanie Gilligan, Judith Goddard, Philomene Pirecki and Corin Sworn.
The artists were selected for the Prize by a judging panel chaired by Iwona Blazwick OBE, Director of the Whitechapel Gallery. The panel included Pilar Corrias, Director of Pilar Corrias Gallery, London; Candida Gertler, Founder and Director, Outset Contemporary Art Fund; Runa Islam, artist and Lisa Le Feuvre, Writer, Curator and Head of Sculpture Studies, Henry Moore Institute.
This year’s shortlisted artists work across various media including installation, painting, writing, performance, film and music.
Following a presentation from each of the shortlisted artists on their proposal for the residency, the winner will be announced in early 2014.

Una mostra composta da una ventina di opere ad acrilico su tela, alcune delle quali con multi-coloured crystals Swarovski, realizzate tra il 1985 ed il 2013. Dipinti che raffigurano soggetti del mondo animale e vegetale, testimonianza dell’interesse di Sonia Strukul per la natura che, ora più che mai, è da “guardare e salvaguardare”.

Peder Mørk Mønsted (1859 - 1941) è stato un pittore realista danese Mønsted che nel corso della sua lunga carriera ha continuato a dipingere il paesaggio danese e la costa.
La sua è una romantica visione poetica della natura. Era un artista che ha rappresentato la grandezza e l'aspetto monumentale del paesaggio, con un occhio notevole per dettagli e colori.


Peder Mørk Mønsted (1859 — 1941) was a Danish realist painter Mønsted that throughout his long career continued to paint the Danish landscape and coastline.
His is a romantic, poetic view of nature. He was an artist who depicted the grandeur and monumental aspect of the landscape, with a remarkable eye for detail and colour.

Seo Young Deok

The human body and its formation lie at the core of the Korean artist  Seo Young Deok’s work who is preoccupied with the stories told through the human figure. His nude sculptures made meticulously in welded metal chain links piece by piece.
What  Seo Young Deok’s sculptures capture is the anxieties of the modern human and especially the anxieties of the younger generation. Through his work, he exposes today’s reality with all its problems and pitfalls. Thus, his body of work has a strong sociological meaning that reflects upon the fragmented world we live in, where technology and the industrial are life today. Some of his pieces lie on the ground and some of their parts are fragmented as if they have been broken.


Il corpo umano e la sua menzogna formazione al centro del lavoro dell'artista coreana Seo Young Deok chi racconta storie attraverso la figura umana. Le sue sculture con nudi realizzati in metallo saldato meticolosamente pezzo per pezzo.
Con le sue sculture Seo Young Deok cattura le ansie dell'essere umano moderno e soprattutto le ansie delle giovani generazioni. Attraverso il suo lavoro, egli espone la realtà di oggi con tutti i suoi problemi e le insidie​​. Così, il suo lavoro ha un forte significato sociologico che riflette sul mondo frammentato in cui viviamo, dove la tecnologia e l'industria sono la vita di oggi.
